Dogs
Dogs are welcome at Burswood Park, but must be kept on a leash at all times in all areas of the park to protect our bird life and for the care of other patrons.
Section 31 of the Dog Act 1976 requires that a dog shall not be in a public place unless it is held by a person who is capable of controlling the dog by means of a chain, cord, leash or harness of sufficient strength and not exceeding the prescribed length. A child holding the leash of a large dog is NOT under control.
Failure to abide by the Dog Act 1976 requirements could result in a $200 infringement notice being issued.
If you do wish to take them for a run, there are plenty of dog exercise areas available in the Town of Victoria Park. The nearest fenced area is across Great Eastern Hwy at G.O. Edwards Park.
