Activities in the park

Burswood Park is free for community groups to come together for recreational activities.

To join one of the many sporting and community groups that use Burswood Park as their meeting place, please contact them directly using the contact details below. You can also see their next scheduled activity on What's on.

Should you wish to host your own recreational activity within the park, we offer 56 hectares of landscaped parklands just waiting for you to enjoy. Please contact Burswood Park Board's Communications and Events Officer to discuss your group's requirements.

Qigong

Practiced in China and around the world, Qigong (pronounced chi-gong) involves moving meditation, coordinating slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind.

Join the Qigong Association of Western Australia for morning sessions on the banks of the Swan River. For an annual $50 fee, you can participate every day of the year except Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, ANZAC Day, Chinese New Year's Day, and during poor weather.

Two classes are held daily in Burswood Park.

6.00am - 7.00am - Dynamic Qigong
7.00am - 8.00am - Static (or Yoga) Qigong

For more details, please email or follow on Facebook.

Cycling groups

Over 55s Cycling Club is for mature age cyclists to join others in a welcoming, social, and supportive environment, where members ride for fun and to keep fit and healthy. The club regularly rides through Burswood Park and arranges various activities, including camps, tours, social events and training workshops.

New riders are welcome, but please review the club rules online and contact one of the committee members before joining the rides.

Walking groups

The Over 55s Walking Association is a non-profit organisation that encourages the mature population to ‘Be Active’. Membership is $10, if you choose to become a member. The group meets at Burswood Park a couple of times a year, and takes a leisurely walk around the Bridges (Narrows to the Causeway), before returning to the park.

In addition to the day walks, they conduct numerous evening walks throughout summer.
